The animals of the Tweed offer constant inspiration and fascination. When I first arrived from Melbourne I was a bit nervous - snakes and goannas and spiders by the dozen were just a little concerning for a city girl. These days however, I feel a connection and appreciation for them. Especially  bush turkeys and water dragons. Pythons, brown and black snakes, night tigers and whip snakes are fascinating and very beautiful creatures, but I don't easily welcome them. We live close by, moving around each other with respect.
